Condor has many public facilities to use - the Community Centre, Drop In Centre, Rink (Ice in winter and cement in summer), Horseshoe Pits, and Ball Diamonds. Currently our accessibility to the school grounds for the rink and ball diamonds is on hold due to the construction of the new school on the site.

Condor Community Centre
The Condor Community Centre was completed in June 1982. Its dimensions are 65’ X 84”. The heated storage/office area was added on the west side of the hall. The main hall occupies 3360 square feet with seating capacity of 300 and is floor-heated. The kitchen is fully equipped with three fridges, industrial stove and ovens, and a sterilizer dishwasher. The bar provides a large counter area and is equipped with a sink. The drop-in centre occupies 700 square feet and is equipped with a separate kitchen facility. It also has a wood fireplace to provide a more home like atmosphere. A large park allows for overnight RV camping (unserviced) and outdoor activities (horseshoe pits and playground equipment). Annual functions consist of Halloween and Christmas parties. The hall is used as a polling station. Events like reunions, pancake breakfasts, auctions, family dances, cabarets, weddings, showers, funerals, meetings, benefits and training sessions take place at the centre.

This community centre is self-supporting and has supplied much for the community. Donations and volunteers are always welcome.

Condor Community Centre Handbells
The handbell choir began fundraising in 1996. Two octaves were purchased in 1997. The bells were received in the fall of 1997 and the choir began. Now the choir has a third octave of bells, and a three octaves of bell chimes. The choir has played for dignitaries and community events.

Condor Fire Department
The fire department started in 1982. There have been many members over the years. The fire hall offers education programs to Condor School students with their yearly tours of the facility and equipment. A new pumper and tanker were designed and purchased. The pumper was purchased in 2002 and the tanker in 2006.

Condor Public Skating Rink
The Condor rink and observation shelter are located on the school grounds and were rebuilt in 2007. The rink received a major overhaul in 2003. About 70,000 dollars went into a cement pad that serves as the rink base. New boards were also put up around the outside of the rink. Basketball nets were put in at either end in the spring of 2007. The steel observation, change area and storage facilities were completed in 2008. There are recreational hockey teams that play each year. The rink is used each year for skating classes as well as recesses for the Condor School children. The rink is used by the public after school and during weekends year round.

Condor Sports Council
The sports council supports community sports endeavors and has helped build facilities in the past. The ball diamonds, bleachers, outhouse washrooms, skating rink and rink are used during the year.

Condor Minor Ball
Recreational ball started in 1982 and continued with volunteer coaches. Many teams play from the beginning of May to the end of June. This organization has added dugouts and maintained the bleachers, outhouses, and diamonds.

Bingo
The Condor Community Centre held a bingo for 39 years. The Bingo has now shut down.  Money from this bingo had been used for the skating rink, ball diamonds, playgrounds, Condor School, David Thompson School, David Thompson Playschool, ball teams, hockey teams, handbells, kid’s parties for Halloween and Christmas, as well as other causes. The bingo also provided funds to help maintain the centre utilities and expenses.
